Back to School Bargains

Sure, my daughter might not be old enough to go to school yet, but it’s hard to ignore that all the local retailers seem to be gearing up for the fall season.  As I walked through the Back-to-School section at Target last weekend in July, I couldn’t help thinking that back to school seems to start earlier and earlier every year.

Staples: With free delivery on orders over $50 and online Back to School Lists for everyone from Pre-K to College age, you can skip the store altogether and shop Staples online.  The savings in store or online are the same, but why deal with the hassle of a long register line?

Either way, the deals at Staples are fabulous.  Binders, backpacks, computers and calculators are on sale this week, with new items coming up in each weekly circular between now and September.  Compaq laptops are starting at $399.98, pencils and pen multipacks are only 25 cents, and flash drives are marked down by $10.  You can easily get everything you need without blowing your budget.

Kmart: Self-declared “Most likely to Rock 2010,” Kmart’s deals span school supplies, clothing and much more.  If you time your shopping right, you could also be entered to win $20 drawings held every 10 minutes (visit Kmart’s website for more information).  With a new Weekly Coupon every week, you can save extra money as well.  Right now, you can get two $5 off a $50 purchase coupons and two $10 off an online purchase of $100.  If you need to stock up anyway, why not benefit from an extra 10% savings?

Kmart’s sale categories include Girls, Juniors, Boys and Young Men’s clothing; shoes; school supplies; backpacks; electronics; uniforms; and lunch bags.  That pretty much covers it all!

Target: At Target, you can reap the benefits of that giant Back-to-School section I mentioned earlier.  Big bins of savings beckon from every corner – $1 notebooks, $9 Texas Instruments calculators, $1 for 12-packs of mechanical pencils!  As their weekly ad says, “get schooled in savings.”  Target, like Kmart, offers deals on clothing as well.  For a comprehensive, one-stop shop where you know you’re getting  a good deal, cruise the back-to-school section in store or online.  Don’t forget to sign up for their Weekly ad e-mail reminders and mobile reminders too!

Walmart: Like your Kmarts and your Targets, Walmart goes above and beyond to provide an all-in-one back to school experience.  This week’s promotion, however, is for Free Shipping on back to college essential items – a fresh approach.  If you’re sending one or more of your kids off to college, save big with laptops starting at $248, desks from $49, and bedding from $16. All with free shipping! When you have so much to buy, every little bit helps!

Clothing retailers are also getting in on the savings.  Special promotions of kids’ clothing for back-to-school are hitting Macy’s, Sears, JCPenney and even boutique stores like American Eagle.

Jump right into the spirit of back-to-school shopping and save with our Back To School Coupons!
