Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal Review

Okay, I’ll admit it: I’m pretty vain. I try to look my best at all times, and I especially like trying new products that help me to achieve that goal. A few months ago, I was flipping through some recent photos and I was a bit shocked by how yellow my teeth looked in one photo in particular. I’ve always been very diligent in my dental hygiene and even use a Cybersonic electric toothbrush at the advice of my dentist, but I guess my two coffee per day habit – okay, okay, and the occasional glass or two of red wine - had finally caught up with me.  From that point on, I became pretty determined to whiten my teeth, but with so many products available on the market that promised to do just that, I was pretty unsure which product to choose. I had tried the original Crest WhiteStrips in the past, but didn’t like them as I found them hard to stay in place. I was looking for a better product, I just didn’t know where to start.

I decided to poll my dentist at my next checkup for his recommendation. I told him I wasn’t interested in spending a ton of money on laser or professional bleaching, and instead was just looking for a simple over the counter, at home product. He recommended that I try the newest version of Crest WhiteStrips, the Advanced Seal, and stated that in his professional opinion it was the best product currently on the market with pretty dramatic whitening results. After assurance from him that the new version was better than the old, I price-shopped around before finally purchasing the two week whitening kit online at Amazon.com for only $25.25 – the average price from most other retailers is $34.99 - and used one of our Amazon free shipping coupons to save even further.  I was pleasantly surprised to receive the product the VERY next day, although I didn’t opt for express shipping.

The next morning before leaving my house for my commute to work, I tried Crest WhiteStrips Advanced Seal for the first time. The box contained 14 individual packets of WhiteStrips – one for the bottom row of teeth and one for the top row – so they were convenient enough to keep in my purse , or even my back pocket without having to lug the box around with me. They weren’t “goopy” like the original Crest WhiteStrips and didn’t slide around my teeth requiring constant repositioning either. As a matter of fact, the strips stuck to my teeth securely and held on for the full 30 minutes like a band-aid. I used them as directed, once per day for two weeks and by the third day the whitening results were already visible, by the first week they were dramatic, and by the end of the full two weeks I was getting compliments from friends on how blindingly white my teeth were.

The whitening gel itself is enamel safe and removes not only surface stains, but also penetrates the tooth to remove those below the surface. The only minor complaint that I do have is that after using the product for several days I began to experience mild tooth pain. My dentist suggested that if the pain were to worsen that I switch to using a toothpaste with fluoride during the two week program, and use the WhiteStrips themselves every other day instead of every day. I didn’t find the pain bad enough that this was a requirement, but it’s good to know I have options in the future.

Overall, I’d rate my experience with the product as great, and I’ll definitely be using them again every six months as recommended by the manufacturer for maximum whitening effect.
