Discount XM Radio Subscription

The great $77 XM Radio deal is still going strong! I wrote in December about how you can get a year of XM radio for $77 and you can still get this offer. Check out my earlier XM Radio post for a walk-through on how to take advantage of this offer.

Remember that XM Radio and Sirius are now one company. You can get great coupons and deals for new radios and subscriptions at the Sirius coupons page on ShopGala.

Today, October 30th, 2010 they offered me a multi-subscription discount but I asked about the $77.00 promo and she said OK , yes, we can still offer that promo and it is less then the Multi cost. NOTE: it’s $77.00 plus some additional government fees that brings the total to $88.78 PLUS TAX for the annual fee. They would NOT let me just stipulate only one year and said that it will automatically renew in one year unless I call them to cancel. I asked if I would be getting a notice that the renewal was coming up and they said no they don’t send a notice when people are signed up on this promo plan. I just put a reminder in my calendar to come up three days before the renewal with their phone number and the radio ID so it will all be in front of me.

I have always sent them a check so they cannot automatically charge me. Once they ask for a credit card number to have on file, I laughed, told them I only use checks and cash. If you have given them a credit card number you can always cancel that card and ask for another.
I knew my one year was expiring the end of this month. I called them today, November 19th. They gave me the 2 and 3 year price. I told them I would not pay more than 8$ a month, she said they had a 26$ for 4 months. I will call back next month and ask for the 77$ special, as my year specail expires Dec 6th. I can’t believe these people, she also said that if I renew today, that my new plan would start today, and I would lose the additional two weeks. So I will just call back.

Just called and got the $77/deal and asked them to mail me an invoice instead of having a CC on file. I would recommend you call until you get an American on the phone. I called on Sunday and fairly certain I was calling into a foreign call center and didn’t get very far. Basically, the only communication the customer rep was giving me was what was the standard rate and didn’t understand what I was asking. If you get this, just hang up and call back.

Holly. an American…from OHIO did what I asked. the first person, Francis, a foreign person tried to charge me 11 bucks a month! for the royalty fee On top of the 77 dollar deal. I ended up with Holly and got the 77.oo deal and a one time 8.50 charge for the royalty fee. it works! I saved almost as much as I spent, a lot off the regular price!

I was able to get this rate today for my Sirius radio (on the phone they referred to it as the “half” rate). When they tried to apply it to my XM radio in order to include the Best of Sirius their “half” rate is $101. Note that they were not able to add the Sat Nav function to the half rate, I would have had to use the full rate. I can live without it.

Worked Great, Thank You! Overall I saved about $83 dollars by using this advice. I called them and informed them of an Email referencing the $77 dollar a year Subscription and they didn’t argue nor decline such an existance of an offer, I am Very Pleased! End Result I have a very Happy Honda Accord and will be enjoying the upcomming Road Trips!

Worked for me today. Total of 85.39. Have to call next year to see if that price is valid.

July 8th, 2011 | 4:00 pm

Also worked for me today! Plus, I didn’t give them my credit card number but asked for an invoice. They activated my radio and gave me a month to send the invoice back with my billing information. Spoke with an American woman. The Indian woman didn’t understand what I was talking about.

Just added a 2nd radio with the $77 package. However, it was a hassle to add the $77 also on the radio I already had. The first rep said it would not be a problem after changing from XM select family-friendly to xm select – which he could not change over. The 2nd rep would at first not want to honor the $77 the first rep promised. After 10 minutes on hold, she finally did extend the promo to the first radio as well. It was somewhat of a hassle but they did come through for me.

I just got the same deal today. I just told the about the $77 deal I saw online. XM calls it their 1/2 off deal. With tax in my area it came to $85.32 for the next year. Note: If you don’t call prior to your 1 year subscription expiring it will auto renew at the full price $12.95. The rep stated XM will send out a reminder notice 1 month prior to the expiration of the auto renewal at the full price.

I just finished my free 3 month subscription for XM on my new car. I called about renewing the subscription and they gave me the half price xm premier price of $116.46 for the year. I asked if they had any quarterly plans available and they locked me into a XM premier semi annual plan for $34.99 plus the fee.

The $77 for one year can not get it anymore or that is what they told me

January 25th, 2012 | 10:51 pm

I just got my renewal letter in the mail. The renewal rate for 1 year was $159.39 + $15.62 Royalty fee + taxes. I called to get the $77/year promotion (I’ve done this for the past 3 years). You have to tell them that you are cancelling your membership, then they transfer you to the retention department. Once I spoke with retention agent, he couldn’t offer $77/yr any longer, however he gave me $86/yr + $8.43 royalty + $6.61 for taxes. Total was $100.54. Hope this helps.
