I recently became a fan of ShopGala on Facebook, because I just can’t get enough of these coupons. Seriously, they have begun to factor in to where I shop online! And yesterday, when a $10 Off a $10 DSW coupon popped up, I clicked the link and went shopping. Not only am I a sucker for a good coupon, I also can’t resist a shoe sale.
When I got there, I learned that I could also receive free shipping on my order of $35 or more, with a free membership. I already have a membership… let the shopping begin!
I started out by selecting the Women’s section from the links across the top. Then, I scanned the list of styles to find what I need. I’ve been looking for some comfortable work shoes for the summer, so I took a peek at the Dress Sandals under the Sandal Shop. With 259 items, I had a lot of browsing to do!
Among the options were many brand names I recognize and love: Jones New York, Liz Claiborne, Steve Madden, even Aerosoles and Naturalizer. Some of the options were also on Clearance, with most prices slashed nearly in half! I found a comfy-looking pair of Naturalizer Craft Sandals in white for $34.94, a 30% savings off the original price of $50. Not bad!
While I scrolled through the wide range of sandal styles, I noticed some were marked as Wide Width Available, Just Marked Down, Narrow & Wide Available, or Big Deal. The helpful folks at DSW have also included the Average Rating right underneath the shoe’s photo and information – something I was pleased to see. I was also impressed that most of their average ratings are fairly high, regardless of the brand. Shopping online for shoes can be tough because you can’t try them on, but the user ratings gave me extra confidence that I would like whatever I chose.
I found the same well-organized presentation in their Handbags section, where I indulged my secondary weakness… purse shopping. Jessica Simpson, Nine West, Poppie Jones, BCBGeneration, and many others were suddenly at my fingertips. Why not pick out a new bag and wallet to go with those adorable shoes?
Before you know it, you’ve got a shopping cart full of goodies. At least with the two coupons ($10 and free shipping), I’m getting some savings. Of course, the membership program offers its own great benefits. I can use it in the store and online to earn points for my purchases. Once I’ve reached enough points, I get a $10 gift certificate toward my next purchase. Plus, there are special double-points events, birthday certificates, and members-only specials.
Since I got to cash in on one of my earned gift cards, I really saved $20 plus shipping on my order. That made it a little easier to justify the total… Kind of.
