These days, with an infant at home, I’m not traveling much. Still, it’s nice to know that when I do need to book that rare get-away, Expedia is a great place to get big deals on travel. I recently booked flights for a group traveling to and from a conference at my workplace, and my search for deals brought me to Expedia’s site.
As with many other travel sites, I had the option to book the flight, hotel, and car rental (or any combination therein) together for savings. According to Expedia, booking the flight and hotel together can save you up to $450. Unlike other sites, you can also book a Cruise or Activities. Even though I didn’t need to book either of those things, I was intrigued…
The Cruise option lets you choose from top destinations and cruise lines to find a cruise you’ll love. Plus, it will calculate the flight information from the city you live in to the departing port. Having booked a cruise before (on my own) I know how difficult it can be to arrange a flight at the exact right time so you don’t miss your cruise ship. Expedia takes care of that for you, it seems.
Activities are available to book in most major US cities. I clicked on Boston, just to see what Expedia things are good touristy things to do in these parts. Six Flags, Blue Man Group, Beantown Trolleys, JFK Library tours, Boston Duck tours, and bike rentals were the featured activities, among others. You could even book a trip to Plimoth Plantation or a Newport Day Tour. The prices were reasonable and considering how much of the hassle this takes out of the vacation activity process, I can definitely see the value in such services.
So on to the Deals & Offers page, where there are tons of last minute deals listed for hotels in major cities and flights to get there. Norwegian Cruise Line is offering a super cheap two-week sale and apparently, summer vacation hotels are 40% off. Excellent.
Of course, all of this site browsing made me lament the fact that a vacation is not in my near future. But at least I was able to get a great deal on a group flight and hotel package. The Business Travel page was an excellent resource for booking hotels, flights, and car rentals with no fees for a large group of travelers. I was able to find a great deal, quote our clients a fantastic price, and coordinate the entire event on one simple site.
Whether you’re looking for personal or business travel, I recommend visiting the Expedia website to compare prices and save big on combination bookings. Don’t forget to visit our Expedia coupon codes before you get started. Happy travels!
